The 3P History
From its foundation in 1992 to its establishment as a global specialist, 3P Services has continuously set new standards. Discover the most important milestones in our company history.
1992
Foundation of 3P
3P was founded in the Emsland – the oil-producing region in the North-West of Germany. From the beginning 3P has been an independent, privately owned company
1994
1st Inline Inspection
After two years of focused development work, 3P establishes itself in project business as a provider of in-line inspections
1996
3P goes global
First In-Line Inspection abroad. The starting signal for many more projects abroad to follow
1997
4" MFL BIDI inspection
3P performs a 4” bidi MFL inspection in the USA, the first bi-directional, free-swimming instrumented ILI ever in the industry
1999
Moving to own company building
As 3P is growing continuously, the owners decide to purchase a company building in Lenzfeld / Lingen
2003
36" MFL BIDI inspection
3P introduces to the industry the first 36” tanker loading line inspection using high-resolution MFL technology in bi-directional application
2014
Reaching our 100 employee mark
The team now covers all functions from hard- and software development, tool design, pipeline engineering, global operations, data analysis, etc
2015
Hiring our 100th apprentice
We have been training young talents for many years and are proud of our high takeover rate
2016
Move into a new facility
The new building and associated yard meet all requirements in terms of modernity, technical equipment and office space
2019
Management change
Following different roles at 3P in Sales, Project coordination and QHSE since 2008 Felix Schmidt joins the general managagement in January 2019 and runs the company together with his father Dr. Rainer Schmidt. In September, he becomes CEO of the company
2023
Opening of new locations
With the foundation of 3P Services North America L.P. and 3P Services Canada Inc. we underline or idea of continuous growth and worldwide ILI services
2025
Expansion in management
Dr. Oliver Zaudtke becomes managing director and now runs the company together with Felix Schmidt
